• Williamson - John Gustavus Adolphus Williamson, born in Roxboro in 1793, became the first United States representative to Venezuela. He died there in 1840.

• An interesting report addressing the entire state of North Carolina that includes information about the funding of projects in Person County during the depression: "Emergency Relief in North Carolina. A Record of the Development and the Activities of the North Carolina Emergency Relief Administration, 1932-1935."
