| Location: At the end of Roxdale Place
off Chub Lake Road Directions: From Roxboro, take Chub Lake Road to right on Roxdale Place (SR1418). Go to very end. Cemetery is directly across cul-de-sac behind house in thicket. Access: On private property behind new development. This cemetery was very overgrown with briers and weeds when we visited. Survey: Jan 2008 by Ken and Becky Dalton and Tonya Wilson GPS: 36 26 10.3N 078 59 19.7W Notes: This is called the John B Oakley cemetery by Burch and Ernest Blalock. Their information is available in the USGenWeb archives. Graves Due to the thick overgrowth, we could only find 1 marked grave and 6 graves marked by fieldstone. The marked grave is: W A CARVER / Jun 29, 1858 / Oct 14, 1911 / God gave, He took, He will restore / He doth all things well / (fs) WAC |
