Location: Byrd’s Creek subdivision off Guess Road across from Charlie Monk Road
Directions:
From Roxboro, take Hurdle Mills Road (157) to Hurdle Mills. Turn left on Guess Road. Turn left into Byrds Creek development almost straight across from Charlie Monk Road (SR1115).

In edge of woods just behind field

Notes:
Initial research indicates that William Brown may have been a CSA POW who took the oath of allegiance and served time on a Union ship in lieu of remaining in a Union prison.
